Cosmetic Tattooing
We offer permanent and semi-permanent makeup services for eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips. Colour and design are all bespoke to each client, so all new clients are required to book a consultation before the cosmetic tattoo appointment to discuss the service(s) and complete the appropriate forms. A touch-up appointment will be booked for 6-10 weeks later where we review how your tattoo has healed and can make adjustments in size, colour and shape if necessary.
If you have cosmetic tattooing from another artist, we will discuss at the consultation if additional services can be performed over top, or if removal is required first. Corrective tattooing is at additional costs and will depend on the previous tattoo.

FAQ’s
+ How long does it last?
This differs from person to person, as a number of variables affect the resiliency of the pigment in your dermis. Generally speaking, a colour refresh/touch-up is recommended within 12-18 months of your initial procedure.
+ How long does it take to heal?
Depending on the service, the healing is anywhere from 7-14 days. During that time you will need to avoid water saturation of the area and sweating (including working out). Refer to the before & aftercare instructions for specific details. In terms of colour, fully healed results are seen at 6 weeks from each appointment.
+ What will my tattoo look like while healing?
The tattoo will look up to 30% darker and larger during the first week, until it fully heals. During the healing process, the tattoo may form a light scab. It will start peeling after a few days but you can’t scratch or pick at it. You should avoid wearing makeup on the area for 1-2 weeks.
+ How long is the appointment?
Each service is split into 2 separate appointments (sometimes 3, if the skin type requires) before considering it a complete service. The initial appointment takes between 2.5-3 hours (including mapping/shaping, numbing and tattooing.) Touch-up appointments are scheduled for 1.5 hours.
+ Does it hurt?
Pain is relative, right? Generally, cosmetic tattooing is rated as a 1-3 on a scale of 1-10 (10 being maximum pain.) We have the option of topical numbing if the discomfort is obvious, but many can tolerate without. (Less numbing means greater chance of pigment retention)
+ Can I get cosmetic tattooing if I’m pregnant or nursing?
Although cosmetic tattooing is a safe and low-risk procedure, for your own safety and peace of mind, Sara will not tattoo any clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you discover you are pregnant and have an appointment scheduled, please notify us so we can reschedule and make future arrangements.
+ If I have previous tattooing from another artist, can you work over them?
All new clients are considered new services due to the fact that every artist has their own style of tattooing, which can make it extremely difficult to cover. If the previous tattoo is done unevenly, or the colour has changed to an undesirable one, the process of covering up is almost always more work than a client with no tattooing. Sometimes, tattoo removal must be done before any additional work may be possible. All potential clients must book a consultation before the service to discuss possible outcomes.
+ Who is not a good candidate for Cosmetic Tattooing?
You cannot receive cosmetic tattoos if:
- Pregnant or nursing
- Under the influence of recreational drugs or alcohol
- Have a history of hemophilia, bleeding disorders or are on any medication that may increase bleeding
- Undergoing chemotherapy or have undergone chemo in the past 12 months
- Diabetic
- Prone to keloid scarring
- Have any type of infection and or rash anywhere on my body, or are currently on antibiotics
- Have sensitivities to dyes, pigments, or topical anesthetics (ex:lidocaine)
- On Accutane. You must be off the medication for a minimum of 1 year before receiving permanent makeup
